Exigence, or, in other words, context, is the reason why we are writing. I feel as if this is the rhetorical element I made the least progress on, mostly because I put in the same efficiency from the beginning of class until now. The quality of what I was writing steadily improved, but it did not hold any significance to me at the end of the class compared to other rhetorical situations. Exigence is basically what led you to write about a topic. Certain assignments also had more exigency in the writing than others. But one thing I feel impacted me the most during my semester was our assignment on sustainability. As most people know, the earth is a dying planet, and that reason comes from anything ranging from climate change to harmful emissions. Clean energy was our sustainability topic, and we aimed to spread awareness and get more people to use clean energy.
Figure 3: This picture is from my PSA sustainability write-up, which shows the relevance of why we chose clean energy for our sustainability topic.
