Media is the way and format or design that a piece of writing is presented. Different forms include digital, oral, or written, such as a newspaper, Google Slides or Docs, or a speech. During class, we practice going over different forms of media and learning about the appeal and audiences that different media would pertain to. Such as a question in class, “What about an older person? What form of media would you use for a person older in age?” We as a class mostly replied, “Written media.” And when asked about teenagers, we replied to digital media. I would say that over time, I was able to make a better description of how to use media to appeal to certain audiences. Over the course of the semester, I was able to work on various projects in which we would discern what form of media this project was to fit, such as a PSA being digital or what form a memo would be if I were writing to a teacher or staff member at CCNY.
