    Purpose

Every project has a purpose that guides your writing and presentation. With this in mind, it is important to know why and the final outcome of persuasive or informative writing. In the beginning of the class, purpose was more of an aspect of why I was writing, often overlapping it with exigence. But throughout writing multiple assignments, I came to realize that purpose as a rhetorical element is not simply why you are writing but also what we want to see out of our writing. In my earlier writing, such memos were much more unclear and a bit more all over the place. But taking a look at a recent project such as my PSA, we are clear on why we are writing on our sustainability topic and the purpose of writing the assignment.
